Wrong Way Records proudly presents WWR014D; which sees us working with a band we admire, Argentina’s Hurricane Heart Attacks.
Hurricane Heart Attacks are: Jota Humada – vocals, guitar, Charly Leoni – guitar, Pablo Gorostiaga – bass and Facundo Dangelo – drums.
Named after a song from psych legends The Warlocks, Hurricane Heart Attacks offer a storm of sharply reverberating guitars creating soundscapes akin to a cosmic highway. They sprung to prominence with LP Incredible Machine released in 2015, which received global acclaim. Prior to this, they released Happiness Revisited and Hurricane Love in 2013 and 2012 respectively.
A side ‘OCD’ has a hearty drum beat at the centre, layered droning guitar play and delayed vocals. A funky bass line ties neatly to the fluctuating guitar riff and as the track progresses it encompasses provocative sound bites before elapsing into a striking guitar riff, reverberating vocals and a drum beat ending that sees the track come full circle.
B side ‘Fake Gold’ builds momentum initially through repetition, before coming into its own with Jota’s characteristic vocal harmonies aurally lulling listeners into submission. Dual guitar play entices whilst background synth elements add a haunting edge. A probing bass line and melodic rhythm section with pleasant drum fills complete the track.
Hurricane Heart Attacks appear as outsiders and to some unknown entities, but their complex sound, sophisticated musicianship and alluring tracks will ensure that 2017 will be the year that that changes.

Psychedelic Rock reminiscent of early Catherine Wheel and Ride - not a bad thing. Quality musicianship and great use of spoken word sample on You Had It All - possibly Terence McKenna? Update - sample is Alan Watts - thanks to the Angry Arab for putting me right! RIYL Superfjord, Sundial circa 'Other Way Out' and the above. kooper66

Really interesting flavors in a soundscapes of this album. An album that doesn't wear out by listening. You always find interesting new details in a rich texture of instruments. I have never been a big fan of sax but this album may change my opinions. Really surprising mix of traditional blue grass instruments but yet really exotic atmospheres. Definitely worth of listening. Reminds me listening to underground radio in the 80s. In those times, discovering cool music was one, but to get such a record in the local outback-store was another thing. superdjango
